In 1999 I started to give private tuition as a hobby. In 2001,
after extensive travelling throughout Europe since 1995, I
relocated to the UK and worked as a customer services co-ordinator.
In 2004 I decided to train as a teacher and I enrolled in
a PGCE course (Secondary Modern Foreign Languages) at the
University of Southampton. I taught French and German in Secondary
schools in Hampshire. In June 2005 I set up nzLanguages
and started to offer French and German tuition in
to private individuals, schools and businesses.
I have taught adults who were re-locating to France or Germany,
people with regular business contacts with clients abroad,
British home owners in France, schooled and non-schooled children,
adults who wanted to learn a new language as a hobby or have
extra tuition to reinforce and improve their knowledge and
prepared students for exams including GCSE, A-level, Common
Entrance, Test d'Evaluation de Francais (TEF) and Certificate
in Business Language Competence (CBLC).
In 2008-2009 I wrote the French AS-Level and A2-Level student course notes for Nelson Thornes Distance Learning.
In 2010 I obtained a Certificate of Competence in
Proofreading and Copy-editing from Chapterhouse and broadened my language services to writing,
proofreading, copy-editing,
typing and transcription.
